After being unable to open my email, I called my ISP (Comcast) customer service number. They told me that an ex-girlfriend, whom I had broken up with 4 years ago, had recently called and canceled her internet service. They further stated that since my email had originally been created on her account, this action automatically canceled my email. 4 years prior, I had transferred the service to my name and nothing was ever said about email accounts having to be transferred separately. When I explained that this email was used for business and I needed access to it, their response was that they couldn't do anything without her permission. They then refused to attempt to get in touch with her and told me I had to. When I explained that I had no way to contact her, they pretty much said "Oh, well. Too bad".
