I was moving and Comcast does not provide service in my new town. I called on March 26 to cancel my service, but asked if I would still be able to access my Comcast email for a while after. I was told by the customer service rep that I would still be able to access my Comcast email for 30 days.
On April 11 I was suddenly not able to download my email. When I called Comcast customer service, and made my way up to talking to a supervisor, he told me that I was misinformed, and that once my internet service was deactivated, that my email account was deleted and could not be activated unless I reinstated my internet service. I said obviously I can't do that because Comcast does not provide service where I am now living, and he said well then we can't reactivate your old email address because it is the protocol. I said well then you should override the protocol because when a representative of your company tells a customer that they will receive something, then it should be the responsibility of the company to provide that to the customer. The supervisor acted like I was making some sort of joke, and then said do you have notes on that conversation?
At that point I knew that they have no integrity because why the hell would I be calling if their CSR did not tell me that I would continue to have access to my email for 30 days? I guess it doesn't matter to them because I am now living someone that Comcast does not serve, so I'm not going to be their customer anyway, but I am just appalled that they will treat their commitments so flippantly and act like promises do not matter if the one making them is giving the wrong information.
