Ripoff business from hell said that he could refund my money if he wanted to, but that he was not going to

I signed up for the 3 months free sevice with AOL in November. My computer went bad after the first month. I used the service for a total of about 4 times during the first month that I signed on. I begain looking for a way to cancel the service. This information is not readily available to consumers, they must call and search and dig deeply to find a way out.

I finally did a search on my pc at work and found a way to email them. I felt sure that once I presented the facts to them, such a large, rich company would have the enthics and decency to refund my money. They have continued to draft money from my account until April. I have sent emails and made calls.

One customer service rep promised to cancel in April, then went into my account and drafted money the same day. She also promised to refund $48 of my money. After calling 4 more times, and getting much run around, hang-ups and rude service reps, I was put through to a man who claimed that he was a supervisor. He used only a first name and was much too nasty and ignorant to supervise any office. He spent about an hour telling me what I did incorrectly and what I should have done and would not let me get a word in unless i joined him in a shouting match.

He acknowleged that they showed that i had not used the service, and he knew that i had been trying to cancel the service. But, he said that email was not the way that it should have been done (as if i should have been familiar with all of their procedures as an employee would). He said that he could refund my money if he wanted to, but that he was not going to.

I am a single parent of 3, with many financial obligations. They took $138 of my money for a service that I did not use, and was billing to my phone service as well. The free months service is a deceptive practice of getting people committed and then taking their money and trapping them. There should be laws against this.
