I signed up with Peoplepc.com for what I was assured was a totally free trial month of internet service. I did not like their service and discontinued after a few days.
The next month I am billed for a months service. I call to get a refund thinking it was a simple mistake and was told that I cannot get a refund because I did not call to cancel. I said I did not know I was supposed to call. They said it was in the "fine print"
I talked to 3 people, going as far up the ladder as they would let me go (the boss was permanently unavailable) but no way would they refund me for the services I did not use.
I guess that legally they are right. But I consider it lousy business practice. I feel tricked by their unclear terms.
They now have a customer who will never use their service, all for a puny month's service fee they would not refund. If they had given it back I would have felt they were an honest and good service.
