Bought my daughter a Dell Inspiron E1705 laptop in 2006. Since then we have had to replace the power cord about 5 times. (Twice within warranty.) Dell acknowledged this problem in other models but refuses to do so with this one.
Whatever the design flaw, the after-market manufacturers have obviously picked up on the design. (Unless these last two cords purchased off of Ebay are Dells though they don't say so on the product.)
I'm never buying another Dell product.
