I am a customer with Verizon for ten yrs. Ten yrs ago i had to go through the same situation. I was told no DSL Line was available in my area and they had to put me on a waiting list. I had to ask from a public utilities person to get involved. Only after the public utilites where involved, Verizon finally provided me with DSL Line. Ten yrs after this incident, i am again once more moving to a new house.
Well before our moving date i contacted Verizon to ask to move my service and i was told that although there is no DSL line they is FIOS. So i agreed to suscribe to full FIOS package deal (tv, phone, internet access). I checked back with them after a week just to make sure everything will be fine this time. They had me running in circles trying to speak to someone who can help me.
The final outcome was that i have to go to a new home and wait anywhere up to four months without internet or TV. Once more i have to wait for Verizon to finally get it together and do their job!!!
