Crappy products and stupid email tech support fried my hard drive Internet Nationwide

Well, Hewlett Packard did it again! In I bought my first computer. As a college student the ze4400 pavilion laptop bundle with printer was too good to pass up. I used my financial aid to pay for it and thought how nice I finally got a computer. Well, four months after I bought it I had to email tech support for advice and had to reformat the whole thing.

I wasn't warned about the blasterworm.in the three years since it gave me nothing but hell. It had 256 Ram and 30 Gb hard drive but it was slow and files often got deleted for no reason, pages wouldn't load and programs refused to respond. Last year my system restore suddenly disappeared and my anti-virus stopped working. I must have spent over two hundred dollars on registry fix software and spyware removers.

Finally in it's last throes, all my music was gone and most of my stuff was so corrupted I finally emailed the yahoos at Hewlett Packard to help me salvage my music. Well, my advice is DON'T EVER EMAIL THEM!!! Their tech guys know zilch and it was back and forth for a week before they told me to do a clean install of the operating system.

Problem is that they didn't tell me I had to download drivers for everything before hand. They assumed they came with the computer and in my desperation did what they said. I was reverted to a state of permanent safe mode. I had no modem or dvd drive. Nothing. I then decided to use my system recovery CDs. It seemed to be going well till it quit on the third disk and then... My hard drive made an awful screechy wheezing sound. It was fried and when I emailed them on an imac I had gotten just in case, they sent a message how sorry they were and a case manager would look into it and he would contact me within 48 hrs.

When I did get the call it was some guy saying that case manager Roy was out to lunch but maybe he could help me. NOT! He knew nothing about me or my problem. I spent five minutes explaining the problem and what they told me to do. Well, he had the gall to ask me if I knew my warranty was expired but he could offer me a discount. I told him I knew he wouldn't be able to help and that I would never buy Hewlett Packard again. I hung up and shot off a nasty email to them telling them what I thought of them and their crappy computers. It would have cost three hundred dollars plus work for the laptop and considering the trouble I've had... I concluded it wasn't worth it.

I retired it. I'm so sick of windows, Hewlett Packard, and PCs in general that I bought an Indigo blue ibook off ebay for the cost of what it would have been to fix that lemon! Hewlett Packard doesn't care about it's customers and deliberately sells shoddy products with limited warranties so when they do break, they're not responsible. My advice is to go with Apple, the computers are well built and the systems are easier to use. I'm quite happy with my imacs and I'll never go back. There should be warning labels on microsoft products and Hewlett Packard computers. My sympathies to anyone who's ever used Hewlett Packard.
