Still Charging Me After Cancellation of Service! Ripoff

I received an offer in the mail from Netscape for a one month "free trial." I signed up for it and was extremely disappointed in the poor internet service, in addition to being apalled at the fact that they had already charged my credit card $10 (I never authorized them to do this).

I called to cancel the trial after about 2 weeks. The young woman I spoke to was very difficult to understand, but she assured me that the charge would be removed from my card and my account would be cancelled. The following month my card was once again charged, although I had never once logged into the supposedly closed account.

I called Netscape again, this time speaking to a man with a worse accent than the first person I'd spoken to. He told me there was nothing that could be done because I'd approved a one-year service agreement! I told him this was ridiculous, that I'd NEVER agreed to anything of the kind. He told me the best he could do was to offer me a monthly charge of $7 over the next year.

When I refused the service he said, "Then we will have no choice but to charge you a penalty of $89." Eighty-nine bucks! Today sure enough, there's an unauthorized charge on my credit card for $89. At this point I'm not sure what to do about this.
