Packages were torn open before they got to my mail box and items were gone. Some packages never delivered

Well here's my ripoff story. I found this site called Bidz.com selling jewerly by online auctions. Wow! Amazing they can start auctions at. 99 with no reserve... That's too good to be true. Should of trusted my intuition! I ended up winning about 18 auctions. I received the first four with no problems at all. The jewelry I received seem fine for what I had bid on.

Then the problems began. I won 5 auctions and paid for them all at one time and they were all shipping together. When I recieved the package (and I have one of those metal community mailboxes so no one can tamper with the mail unless they outright steal it) it had been torn open and retaped. Two of the five items were missing. I saw the postal carrier put the package in my box so I know that noone else had gotten to the package. I filed a claim immediately.

The next day the next set of 5 auctions I had one arrived and the package was again torn open and two items were missing again. I have been mailing stuff for years and have never had packages torn open in this manner. I immedately filed a claim.

Both times it was stated by Bidz that I must authorize them to start a claim. I did... Daily for three days. They finally replied stating they would send to forms. Never saw any forms. Today I went online and chatted with the live rep. She actually linked me to claim forms. I printed them out but was told this was only one of the missing sets stating I need to authorize the other one... Which I have so many times now. And guess what. The claim forms have to be notarized!

I also have two more auctions that have never shown up. The tracking shows they have been accepted by USPS on 9/5/06. But they have not been delivered? What is that? I was reading the tracking report from USPS and it states that acceptance does not indicate that the USPS has actually received the item. I think that bidz just electronically notified them of a package to be mailed and then never did (this is unsubstantied and I will call the post office to see if they acutally have received my package and write back in).

After reading so many other usacomplaints.com I am not sure if I am going to continue to pursue this by filling out the forms and getting them notarized. Luckily, though I spent a fair amount of money I did not bid on high priced auctions. Just thought I would get my feet wet first.in hind sight I should have known better! What was I thinking... Dddoohhh!
