Cynergy Health is holding my 26 year-old diabetic brother's money hostage, while he rations meds and insulin to survive

Upon being laid off this past year, my 26-year old brother, who suffers from diabetes, kidney disease, and high blood pressure purchased insurance through Cinergy Health. Prior to the lay-off, he set aside over $1,000 for health care costs. Cinergy has taken his premiums out each month like clockwork, however the first time he submitted a claim to be reimbursed for qualifying expenses, 2 months went by without him seeing a dime. After weeks of phone calls and being told that their system was behind and that there was nothing they could do, he was lucky enough to speak with a manager who actually seemed to care. The manager apologized for the delay, let my brother know that they had hired extra hands to assist with claims processing, and assured him that this would not happen again. He then pushed my brothers claim through right away, and he was finally reimbursed about 2 weeks later.

My brother now has claims amounting to almost the full $1,000 he set aside pending with Cinergy. Again, after 2 months of waiting, he has made numerous phone calls, has jumped through additional hoops, and is STILL getting the run-around. He recently asked for the manager who had been kind enough to assist him before, and was told that the man had been "let go." Same story, "Our system is behind and there's nothing we can do." Upon being asked questions such as "How is a diabetic supposed to live without his insulin?" and "Please, is there ANYTHING you can do to help?" a repeated response (about 6 times) of "I'm sorry, our system is behind and your claim is going to take another 30 days" was spewed from a perfectly-recited script by a so-called manager at Cinergy Health.

My brother has no more money to pay for his medical expenses. The local hospital donated some insulin to help him get by, and he is taking medications that are meant to be daily doses every other day so that he does not run out completely. This is in no way an acceptable state for any human being to live in. Cinergy Health's complete disregard for human life is an abomination. There are 12 other reports on them on this site alone! How they are still legally in business is beyond my comprehension.
