I opened this account when I first moved to NYC and didn't have health insurance through my job. When I was interested in signing, I had reps calling day and night. I should have known something was up.
When I finally got health insurance through work and tried to cancel this account, these guys were impossible to get in touch with. Apparently they just want to speak to you if you are opening an account with them even though they say you can cancel at any time.
God knows how would have happened had I actually needed their services during the time I was with them.
I finally managed to speak to a rep after 2 weeks of calling, hours of speakerphone hold time and aggressive messages to their answering machine, to which I was always forwarded. The rep assured me that my coverage would be canceled and I would not be charged, but low and behold, what doth appear on mine credit card statements? You guessed it.
These people are awful. I've just called to get the charges removed, and no answer. I'm doing it through my credit card company instead and using the hold time I've saved to report these Consumer Health Benefits to every consumer reports site out there.
Don't EVER use these people!!!
