CHBA-Consumer Health Benefits Association, National Benefits Consultants, Deceptive Fraudulant Company Lies about Health plan and Continues to Bill your charge card after calling to cancel

I was first called by one of CHBA's consultants on September 22 named "Tim" who described the plan as a major medical but told me that when he tape records the agreement to purchase the plan he will call it "Health Benefits" because that is the company's way of getting around some gov't law to keep the plan cheap.

I told him I was interested but that I had applied for another health program and was waiting to hear from them if I qualified for it. He assured me that he could proceed to take my information and delay the charge on my card until October 3.in the meantime, if I get the other insurance all I have to do is call him to cancel before the due date and I would not be charged. If I called after that date I would be billed a non refundable amount of 259.85.

On September 25 I called Tim's #1-877-446-8700 Ext: 114 and left a message that I wanted to cancel. I told him that I was not working yet and my husband and I cannot afford it... And I definitely can't afford to have my credit card billed. He called and left a couple messages about being able to extend the charge date if I wanted. I never called back because nothing had changed for the better in my circumstances.

On 10/03/06 I checked my credit card online to view payment details and noticed that CHBA charged my card after I had cancelled it and added a purchase finance fee of 17.07-that Tim never mentioned to me! I called Tim and left a message, then called another extension asking for someone in charge.

I ended up speaking with a woman and told her what happened... She told me that she had to look into it and would call me back. She never called back. On November 2 I called back to the number and spoke with a different woman who told me that the 259.85 was non refundable but that she will cancel the policy that day and I would not be billed on November 3. November 9th I check my credit card online and find out they charged me 139.95 and another purchase finance charge of 11.61.

I am not getting satisfaction from my credit card company either-which I intend to file a report on them also. How many times and how many people do you have to speak with before they stop billing my card?

Just wanted to warn all of you consumers searching for a health plan not to get "taken" by this company. The only thing they gave me has been stress and aggravation. They lead you to believe the matter is taken care of, only to find they did nothing.
