I signed up for the "free trial" with Ivory White after carefully reading all the terms and conditions. I received the trial package, cancelled the subscription, repacked the unopened 'program' box in the original mailer and labeled with RMA as instructed by their customer service.
Shortly after the return, my credit card was charge $19.60 - their 'repackaging/damaged' fee. When I contacted customer service about the charge, they claimed their warehouse noted damage on the returned package: "This can range from the seal on the outside of the package being broken to the product being written on. According to the terms you agreed to, because your return was damaged, you were charged a $19.60
nonrefundable repackaging/destruction fee."
The return was in pristine condition, but there's no way for either of us to prove our case. I'll be disputing the charge with my credit card company. It seems clearly evident to me that the company is making quite a bit of money with this fee.
Total cost of the free trial: $26.67
original shipment: 1.43 1.44
return shipping: 4.20
repackaging fee: 19.60
