My wife and I purchased a very expensive Ashley sectional. All pieces are power recliners including the chase. Upon delivery, all the pieces looked good and functioned properly. 4 days after delivery, the chase recliner practically fell to the floor. I pulled the couch out and inspected the back of the chase. There are flaps secured by Velcro on the back and when I opened it, I noticed screws were sticking out and blocks of wood were used as if someone tried to fix this prior to delivery. I called Ashley customer service and they had to send a technician out to inspect it. A week later, the tech arrived and did the inspection, even the tech said the way the furniture is made the blocks of wood are not used in production. It was now obvious that the chase was broke prior to delivery and a half aed fix was attempted at my cost! Ashley's policy is to FIX not replace so buyer beware! Only under rare circumstances will Ashley replace any piece of furniture. The tech said my chase was not repairable because of the location of the split wood and the botched repair attempt. I went round and round with customer service to tell me I would accept nothing other than a replacement! I was told that within two days of the tech coming out they would call me with their decision. Yup! Two days passed and on the 4th day I called them. They still didn't have an answer and I was told that my account representative was going to call the next day. Yup again! No call the next day, waited one extra day and still no call. I placed a call again to customer service and finally told a replacement would be delivered. Bottom line... The furniture is very poorly made, recliners wobble and feel flimsy, over priced for plywood construction. Lastly, according to customer service, once the delivery guys leave you are SOL! I was told it was my responsibility to thoroughly inspect everything... And yes, including lifting the back Velcro panel and inspecting workmanship. The conclusion is I will never buy from Ashley again nor refer anyone to them.
