I work for a church in Anchorage, Alaska. We needed a paper folding machine for all of the mailouts we were doing at Christmas time. We ordered a Martin Yale 1601 Folding Machine from clarybusinessmachines.com. The item was later placed on back order because of some parts that hadn't shown up in order for them to finish manufacturing the machine. So after 3 weeks of waiting we finally get it. After a week of sitting in the box, I finally had the chance to set it up and everything seemed fine. As I run the machine, table 2 keeps slipping on the machine. It won't hold my fold marker in place so after each piece of paper I have to readjust it, otherwise all of my paper is ruined and the machine will jam horribly. I contacted the company that sold me the machine and they said no one can help with any problem on a Martin Yale machine except Martin Yale. So I called Martin Yale. I spoke with an extremely rude gentleman in their tech department. All I wanted to do was to fix the machine because I didn't want to have to ship it back. Well after being offended, I finally got the tech manager on the phone and he agreed to send me a few replacement parts. The parts didn't help so now I'm returning the product to Martin Yale.
If you want to return a product of theirs for defective purposes, good luck. First you will have to fill out their paperwork, send it over to them with a copy of your receipt and then patiently wait for a response. I finally got my Return Authorization which only authorizes me to send it back to them. I still don't know if they're going to accept the return. I may not get any credit back at all. Plus, in order to send it back, it has to be repackaged in a new box and shipped via UPS... ALL THE WAY FROM ALASKA (very expensive for doing it on my own dime). Then, I have to hang on to all of my receipts from shipping and the purchases and then they will try to issue a refund if I've qualified for it. Please, for the sake of your sanity and desire to be treated like a human being, avoid all of Martin Yales business machines. They do not stand behind their product and you will probably be insulted and accused of breaking the machine yourself if you need to return it for any reason.
