MCi worldcom wireless customer service HELL, no service when you need them

Our problems arised after not getting a billing statement from worldcom wireless for three months. When we did receive one it was for $270.00 some odd dollars. They had explained this as a new billing practice being put into effect. We paid the bill promptly. Soon afterwards we realized our phones were shut off.

I called customer service first, with a recorded message saying a representative would be with me in approximatly 40 minutes. I waited for over an hour and finally hung up, having to go home from work. Called again from work the next day and was on hold for over a half hour.

I did talk to a rep, explaining what had happened, confirming the new billing practice. Fine. When asked why the phones were shut off, no explanation was given, he/she didn't know why. They said they would turn the phones back on within 48 to 72 hours. After waiting several days, mine was turned on but my wife's was not. We have called numerous times since, spending more than 300 minutes on hold.

My wife has kept track as I let her take care of it due to the fact I couldn't talk to them any longer.in all the times we did talk to someone, it was the same story, "we'll have them both working in 48 to 72 hours." Still this has not happened.

It snowed the other day here, my wife got stuck, and it would have come in handy to have a working phone in the car. This is why we bought them in the first place. We have since given up, and bought two new phones from another carrier.

We're waiting for the bill to arrive from MCI, and will deduct what we feel is the proper amount for our lack of service. Also, my wife has written a letter to send with the bill to explain the aggrevation they have put us through this last month. I'm sure it will do no good attempting to contact "customer service" to cancel all services with them. I'm sure the story will not end here and we will keep you posted.
