On November 10 I refered my sister to Directv. They have a refer a friend bonus, if the person signing up gives them your account number you and the new customer both get 100.00 worth of credits (10.00 per month for 10 months). My sister signed up and gave the sales person my account #, the sales person said they showed no such account #, called customer service and they verified I had the correct account number. I tried to call the sales person at the direct number she gave me, she never returned my call, I sent an e-mail to directv explaining the situation and I received a nice friendly e-mail back stating they needed my sisters name and account # and they would take care of it.
I responded prompltly to the e-mail and gave them the requested information, then I get an e-mail back stating they show that I am not eligible for the bonus because my sister did not sign up on the internet or call a special number. No where on their commercials does it say you have to do either of these. The sales rep also told her we would both be getting the bonus as soon as I called back with my account number.
This company is a ripoff they do not want to give you what they owe you. I also tried to get an upgrade to HD and they wanted me to pay 100.00 when they give a free hd receiver to new customers, they don't give a crap about there existing customers. I am seriously thinking about switching to Dishnetworkm they will give me a free HD DVR reciever if I switch to them.
