I was sold on a package in Best Buy and was told that not only would I be getting a 150$ gift card, which still hasn't arrived, but that I would also get the refer-a-friend discount. The DirecTV Representative gave me his OWN Uncle's account number for the refer-a-friend discount and told me my bill would only be 35 dollars a month for the first year. After numerous installation attempts, from god knows who because they don't really work for DirecTV, I finally got my setup activated. First two guys who came to my house, different ones at that, didn't even wear name tags or tell me their names. I called about the refer-a-friend discount afterwards and DirecTV told me that because I went through Best Buy that I don't get to even use the refer-a-friend discount method. I was on the phone for three to four hours being switched around to different departments like I didn't matter at all. Not only was it unprofessional for the Rep to give me his uncles number. But he tried to do WHATEVER it takes to make me sign a two year contract. Now I'm locked in for the long haul at 50$ a month on my first year and 65$ the second year. Once my contract is up I will never go with DirecTV again and will persuade everyone I know to avoid them like the plague. I feel betrayed as a customer.
