I purchased a Compaq Presario Laptop on January 20. Motherboard took a crap April 20th. Computer has less than 40 hours on it with a cooler under it the whole time on my wifes desk. It went to a black screen and never rebooted again! Compaq knows about the black screen issues because the support website has alot of diagnostics related to them. 3 months out of WARRANTY and their response to me is"Sorry for the inconvenience" What in the world does that mean? It means we have just stolen your money legally. We have a bet that if you buy our product you will have a failure after a period of time, (one year) in this case, And if it happens outside of the reqired time period We win the bet! HP has lost me a a customer. They said if I wanted it repaired they would charge $358.00 Shipping. I paid $600.00 including tax from Office Depot who also are having nothing to do with this. They sell it but wont back it up so as far as I am concerned I'm done with them as well!
