DirecTV put two satellite dishes on one of our rental properties. The roof is only two years old, and we paid thousands of dollars to have it replaced. It is now full of holes where the dishes and the cable were fastened.
We never gave this company our permission to drill into the roof of our property. Their policy and terms also say they are not liable if the roof is damaged by weather or any other circumstance.
They should not damage anyone's property without the owner's consent in the first place. On top of that, when we phone them, they refuse to speak with us, because the account belongs to the tenants and not to us.
I called a number of times and was never put through to a supervisor. The staff were rude and unwilling to help.
I am submitting complaints to the Federal Trade Commission, the Better Business Bureau, and the Attorney General of KY, since that is the address where the tenants pay their bills. I suggest everyone else do likewise. I have done it before and the results were great.
All of these complaints can be filed online with little effort.
FTC / www.ftc.gov (Consumer Protection)
BBB / www.bbb.org (enter zip code... Top left tick For Consumers) Complaint
The Attorney General complaint goes to the state where the company is based. A quick google search will show you who that is, along with the address.
Best of luck to all!
