My issue is no different from any of the others. I spent 6 hours setting up a DirecTV deal for my father at his home, including being there for the install to try to make sure nothing went wrong. The sales people were all good with the referral rebates for both of us. I got all the numbers necessary and searched the mail for the next 4 weeks for the three different rebate forms we needed to fill out and send in. It seems the rebate just vaporized!!!
There is no record of it. I think I spent so much time trying to be sure they were not going to rip me off that they pocketed the money for themselves.
I have since scrapped my DirecTV, but unfortunately my dad is stuck with his because of an agreement in the fine print that lets them draft any money they deem necessary from his checking account. Why is everything so difficult? If we do not react to the hype of free stuff, maybe the monopolies will just offer fair pricing, or is that out of the question? I hope to add the names and numbers of everyone I spoke with soon.
