DIRECTV offers several plans to get you to agree to a contract, but in my case never stuck too their end of the deal.
I called in Dec. They said no fee to install, but when the rep. Called to confirm he said it was $20.00. I sail for what his response was for insurance while he transported the equipment. So this is the start of many calls to DTV. The $20 charge was removed. The first bill we received was no where close to our agreement, Their rep, told me on the phone my rebate didn't go through, just pay the bill and she would process it for me and my "90 days free" would start next month. Next month it was the same problem the bill was about $60 more then our agreement, I called again I ask do you record you phone calls for quality purposes they said yes but they didn't record ours. Again pay it and it starts next month I said are you sure the rebates are done They said yes and was so sorry about the past. Guess what next month's bill was that's correct THE SAME SCREW UP. But the call to costomer service was very interesting. This time I was not only told my rebates weren't applied but my 90 window is closed and they couldn't do any thing about it, again they couldn't hear any phone conversations but they could see where one of their reps tried to apply the rebates but something went wrong with the computers and it didn't go through. Is this my fault NO but I have to pay. I have lived up to my end of the deal but they haven't now I am stuck paying $99 a month when it was agreed to only be $44 and by the way to cut it off early $400. If anyone is stupid enough to use DTV you better record your conversations and you will have several and write down conf numbers times you called and who you talked to. Make a folder that you can get to easy keep all your records until your contract is up because I promise you will need it.
