The same old complaint about Vonage. I signed up for their 2 line business service on 12/23 and wanted to cancel on 1/27. I received my equipment from them, at a cost of $113.58, on 12/29, so I assumed I was within my 30 day free trial. WRONG!!!
They start your 30 days from the time you call and order your equipment. Fine, just cancel my LOUSY service. I could not use my internet when someone else was on the phone. Could not load my UPS worldship, it slowed my internet high speed down so much. The phone calls sounded like the person on the other end was talking underwater. Moved the Vonage modem as far away as possible. They tried to have me take a free 60 days of service so I wouldn't cancel my account. I insisted I just wanted to cancel then the girl says well that will be a $39.99 disconnection charge and a $70.00 rebate recovery charge. I never got any rebate offer when I received my modem from Vonage, so now I have lost all that money too. Don;t care at this point, just cancel my GD service!!!
Another $115.00 to cancel my service. I made sure they cancelled my fax line too, after reading all the complaints about these scam-artists. After reading in numerous complaints about how they keep charging your credit card after you cancel, I thought, ahh!!!
I called my credit card company after they took out the $115.00 of charges and told them my credit card was lost and could they issue my a new card. Now they can not charge my card any more. Just cancel your debit/credit card and they cannot keep charging you for service after you cancel.
All in all, for 1 months service with Vonage my total out of pocket expenses is $288.00 for 31 days of service. Thank Goodness, I can at least write it off on my taxes!!! Stay away from these crooks!!! The business website is saying they are in a patent lawsuit with the big phone company and they will probably go bankrupt soon. Class action suit has also been started against them!!!
