My husband purchased a laptop computer from Circuit City Daytona Beach last August. He paid $239 for the Advantage Protection Plan. Well, we lost Microsoft Office on the computer, then heard that Circuit City was going under. So, I contact the local store and explain the problem. What I wanted to find out was if we should re-load the program or if we could bring it in there for them to re-load it.instead of offering any suggestions, giving me phone numbers for assistance, transferring me to someone who might know what they were talking about, or helping at all, the angry woman who answered the phone rudely asked, "Haven't you been watching the NEWS?" and when I responded in kind, she slammed the phone down.
No wonder the company is going under and all these high quality employees are losing their jobs.in the meantime, I have on my own found a few national/international numbers to call for supposed help (including a "help" web site which is bouncing people off of it), and spent over 1.5 hours on the phone trying to get some assistance.
I guess if you spend $1200 at Circuit City, get talked into a warranty, and the company goes under, you're screwed.
Firedog is the company Circuit City was working with (1-800-347-3364). Then there is the Circuit City Advantage Protection Plan, which cuts you off (1-800-555-4615).
