I purchased a SONY VAIO Laptop computer from them on September 20. On November 7 the screen "cracked", even though I have never moved it from my antique desk, have no children or animals. I called both Sony and Circuit City. Sony said it was past the manufacturer's warranty so I would have to pay for the repair ($700 for a screen). Circuit City Advantage said that even though I purchased an extended warranty, it does not cover LCD screens. I argued that a laptop is one unit not two and therefore the screen should be covered. They disagreed and sent me on my way. When I spoke to the manager, he also said that there was nothing he could do. The computer's total cost was $2,265. Now it's worth nothing. Their warranty program, Circuit City Advantage, was rude and wasted my time. They took the computer supposedly to fix even though their response was to return it because they didn't fix LCD screens. Then why would they take it in the first place? If that was their standard operating procedure, than why waste my time? As a result of my experience, I will no longer purchase anything from circuit city - least of all a high priced electronic item!
