I bought the warranty Circuit City Assure/Firedog when I bought my computer from circuit city. I bought a Sony Vaio computer. The keyboard on my computer stopped working and I contacted Circuit City. The computer was only about 6 months old. Circuit City replaced my Sony keyboard with a Logitech keyboard not the Sony one they should have. I did not buy a Logitech computer so my product should have been replaced with the exact same product as I bought not an inferior one.
Their guarantee on the wall of their store says customer satisfaction but I was not satisfied and they did nothing to fix the problem. So I requested a refund of my warranty as their policy says you may cancel at any time and receive a refund. They told me I could not get a refund since I had filed a claim on my warranty. Finally after much disscussion at the store and several phone calls to the company I finall got a refund of the warranty 3 mon later, prorated.
I still feel that if they had told me upfront that the warranty would not replace a broken piece with the same piece I would not have bought a warranty but I was lead to believe that was the purpose of the warranty to replace or repair a non working part.By the way Sony immediately replaced my keyboard as it was still under manufacturer's warranty which Circuit City should have known and referred me to.
