Samsung monitor $40 rebate never arrived after eight weeks

I could not believe it, my first time buying a computer monitor 17in samsung syncmaster 763mb. From Best Buy it had a $40.00 rebate with it. Filled it all out sent it in 8 weeks later no rebate, called them and asked, wares my check its in the mail heard that one before? Waited 3 weeks more weeks no check
maybe that's how they compensate them self for discounts, give out 500.00 worth or rebats, and screw 500.00 worth rebats that way they lose nothing.
