30 Day Trial Is A Sham

I ordered 3 magicJacks after seeing their infomercial touting the 30 day free trial on a local tv station. Ten days later my checking account was debited even though I hadn't even received the items yet.

Upon contacting magicJack through their live chat feature, I was told the 30 day free trial applies only to credit card purchases, not debit card ones.

Upon explaining that this was never told to me I was passed to someone of "higher power." I repeated the issue and stated I wanted to cancel the order and have the money refunded to my checking account immediately.

I provided order date and shipping address, then was told it was at my local post office so I needed to check there. I asked for the tracking number and questioned why it would be at the local post office when all my mail is sent to my home.

After receiving the tracking number I went to the USPS tracking site, entered the number, and was shown that the electronic shipping info was received for shipping from West Palm Beach, FL.

After returning to the "higher power" and repeating this info, he proceeded to say I was lying. He followed that, after I said I intended to contact the FCC and Better Business Bureau, with "ignorant, " "illiterate, " then signed off with the word "Bang." Based on his use of the English language, he is probably from India or thereabouts. He had no clue what he was talking about with respect to the US Postal Service. I did contract work for them for several years, and have a fair understanding of shipping procedures.

Thanks to a prior post that had a phone number for magicJack Billing Dept, I intend to contact them today.

I was ready to recommend magicJack to my family and friends, but that won't happen now. This outsourcing of customer service functions is useless, as this and the other posters' experiences have shown.

Stay away from magicJack until and if they straighten up their act.
