I bought a Magellan Maestro from Costco tested it out and found the new freeway (which had been completed about 2 years ago) was not in the GPS unit. I called Customer (no) service and was told they sell them with whatever maps are on them until that model is sold out and if I wanted to update the maps to current it would cost me. I explained that I expect the GPS to be current as to when it is bought and that I understand paying for updates down the line but this freeway has been in existance for 2 years and the unit was constantly trying to put me on side roads.
I even spoke to a "supervisor" who had the nerve to go through a script trying to get me to agree that she had resolved my problem. I assured her that they had NOT resolved my problem and I would be sure to post my complaint anywhere I could.
Even though I had the unit for more than a month I was able to return it with NO PROBLEM FROM COSTCO. Magellan should take a lesson from Costco's customer service.
