On 23 Feb I purchased a Griffin iTrip FM Transmitter Charger and Remote for iPod through eBay (item number 140209950217) from ICraveit.com for $29.80 using my PayPal account. I received the item approximately a week later and it was completely inoperative. I returned the unit to them for a replacement. When I received the replacement, it too was defective. We agreed that I would return the defective unit to them for a full refund, including initial shipping costs since the units were defective.
I returned the unit to them and they received it on 9 April and I began watching for a credit to my PayPal account or other correspondence from them. When nothing happened, I began contacting their Customer Service. After several commitments by ICraveit.com to process the refund that were not fulfilled, I entered a negative rating of ICraveit.com into the eBay system. The next day, I received a phone call from a person whom I presume to be a Customer Service manager (Matt). He assured her that the check would be written. Shortly thereafter, he called back saying that his boss had instructed him not to send the refund unless I agreed to rescind the negative rating on E-Bay, which I refused to do
Since I had a verbal (and email) commitment from ICraveit.com for a full refund at several times and from several of their representatives, I believe that they have a contractual obligation to provide a full refund. Furthermore, since they have made this refund contingent on my rescinding my negative E-Bay rating, I consider their current actions to be nothing short of blackmail
