A run around from Best Buy over a $20.00 camera filter ripoff

In late 2006 or early 2007 I purchased a 67mm circular polarizer from Best Buy in Syracuse for my Nikon camera lens. I lost the sales slip, but the package said that the filter had a lifetime warranty on it.

The problem with the filter was that the metal ring that holds the glass down in place kept coming loose and it would have to be retightened.

The Syracuse Best-Buy store refused to exchange the filter, because I had lost the sales slip, but the package said on it that the filter had a lifetime warranty and to subject a customer to such nonsense and a run-around over a $20.00 purchase goes to show just how POOR MANAGEMENT AT ALL LEVELS APPARENTLY IS PART OF BEST-BUY'S PROBLEMS.

After nearly 6 phone calls to the company's toll free number, and wasting nearly 3 and 1/2 hours of my time to resolve this, I can only sympathize with other members who report problems with Best-Buy to this site. While some of my calls were to the highest levels at Best Buy's customer service department at their toll free number. After spending nearly 3.5 hours on this matter, and finally getting through to the manager of the Syracuse Best-Buy, was I able to resolve the matter. The manager kindly let me exchange the filter and I thanked him for resolving the matter. However, it should have not taken 3 and a half hours to do it.
