On July 29 I had an oil change at Quik Car Care at 1600 Eire Blvd, Syracuse NY. On August 7 the oil filter fell out and caused my engine to seize up and stop working. The oil light came on only after the filter fell out. I called Quik Car care and made a complaint. They claimed they did everything correctly and I would have to provide the missing oil filter as proof. The oil filter is lost, but since they were the last people to touch my car they are responsible and they should pay for the damage. (The car had been driven very little since the oil change.) I trusted them to do a professional job and they must honor that trust. They are a business that does oil changes and they must do their work correctly or be put out of business. I have filed a small claims case against them, written a report to the BBB and the NYS Attorney General. I plan on contacting the local media and organizing a picket in front of their place of business! They have caused a hardship on me and my family and I will not let them get away with it!
