WildBlue Comm is a nightmare to deal with. After purchasing a dish for $200, I was told installation would be free. Unfortunately it ended up costing me $500 to have it installed for various reasons.
After I was up and running, the service didn't seem that fast, but was better than dial up. About 60% of the time I could get connected without any problems for the first 6 months. After that, I starting having problems getting any connection at all. I sent several emails which were not answered and then constact Customer Service thru a chat session. They told me I would need to call Tech Support. I tried a couple of times unsuccessfully to reach someone at tech support. I was on hold for more than 1 hour each time. Finally one night I just called and hung on for more than 1.5 hours. Finally I talked to someone. They had me run a few tests and then stated they would need to place a service call, which would cost me at least $75 if not more. I told them I wouldn't invest another dime in trying to fix there service and ended up going with another service even though I still had 2 months left on my contract with them.
Funny thing was that when I was having so many problems getting a connection, that I always seemed to be able to get thru during non-peak hours, either very late at night or very early in the morning. This makes me think the problem was hardware on my end, but a capacity problem on their end.
Bottom line, avoid this company!!! Customer service is horrible, even when you get connected it's not that fast, and they will want to charge you if their service has a problem.
