2 defective dvd players, same model no dp300

I was given 2 norcent dvd players, model no. Dp300

One has a problem with the tray opening constantly and "tray error."

I tried resetting the dvd player to the default settings and i tried using a dvd cleaning disc kit.

Dvd player works only after pushing the tray in many times. You may wait a half an hour before it finally works.

The second dvd player with the same model works but with very low sound. Even if i turn the volume up on my tv i still have trouble hearing the sound.

I tried resetting it to the default codes, but no luck.

I called norcent but nobody answers any of their phones. The fac no they give on their web site rings but no fax answers.

In 2007 phillips sued norcent for infringing on their patent technology. Phillips was awarded a $12 million dollar judgment.

Maybe that is why norcent does not answer their phones.

I do not know if the judgment was appealed!!!

Does anyone have any advice on how to fix the sound on my dvd player?

Ps: i tried taking both of the dvd cases appart to see if i oculd swap the parts and have one working dvd player. But the parts in one were different than in the other yet they both have the same model no.
