I recently made a purchase from buy.com and decided to return within the week after I saw the same items cheaper both on their own site and elsewhere. I filed an RMA with a customer service agent, was asked several times if I had opened the item, which I had not and communicated as such.
I sent the items FedEx and needed their detailed tracking info, because Buy.com claimed not to have received the box for 2 weeks after they received it, until I provided them with the specifics of when the package arrived and who signed for the package. Then they charged me a "restocking fee" because they claimed one of the items was opened (which it was not), then they told me I had claimed it was opened when I registered for the RMA on their website (which I had not done on the website for that item - I had talked to a customer service agent, and an unpleasant one at that.)
I've exchanged 1/2 a dozen emails with various customer service agents, all with the same result - "tough luck". I won't be shopping with Buy.com again, and you shouldn't either.
