To start off I started using Ntelos this past spring. Not only have they drove me nuts harassing me, the are scandulous.
I started with an unlimited plan with 2 phones my wife and I shared. For some reason I received roaming charges even when I was in my house here. Then to make matters even worse, I had in my plan for the first 3 months I had a discount rate so the bill only should have been about 80 dollars. They charged me 180.00
It cant get any worse right? Wrong, they sent me two bills. Ok I thought, which one is mine, then looking a little closer my name was on both. I thought it must be wrong, so I called them. They said ohh it is no big deal just throw the other bill away. I was like huh??? But what was I to do, I put it away in my files. It gets worse.
I had to leave for awhile because I am in the military and had the phones shut off, but no they didnt want them shut off. So they never shut them off. Then one day I get a collections notice for a cell phone plan I never had, the one they told me to throw away. So I called the collector and tried to explain to him this was wrong.
Well after being talked to like trash, threatened illegally by a bill collector, i finally called Ntelos. They didnt even apologize for the fact that it was not even me. They decided on their own to give me an extra phone that I never saw or knew I had.
So then that was all said and done. They claimed I still owed them 503.00 dollars. So I said look, I will pay it with a payment plan. I gave them 200.00 dollars to start with. Well then I got another bill stating I owe them 74.65, and they credited my account 276.00 dollars. How I owed them 303 after paid 200 is easy to calculate. However how I owe them 74.65 after they credit my account 276.00 is beyond me. It doesn't even add up to 303...
To make it even crazier, the lady on the phone said ohh, you dont owe the 74.65 either, because they over charged you that amount. I said hmm ok, so my accound is paid in full then right? She said yes, and my account would be closed.
Not to drag this story out forever but, they had one more tactic up their sleeve as well. After a few months go by I receive another bill for 424.00 I was like I thought my account was closed? No wasnt closed, they said they never received the phones I got from them that I did send, and some other amount of money I owed them as well.
Do you see how shady these people are? First off they do not even know what they are doing at all. The only thing they do know is how to rip you off with money. Like as in you only owe us this amount, so instead of dealing with it you pay it off. And they never stop either.
To make it even worse, the 424.00 they want they sent me a letter saying if I do not pay it within 7 days it was going to collections. After the fact they never said anything to me for months. I even called before and left my phone number and they were supposed to return my phone call and tellme what I owe.
I jope this does go to collections, because when it does, i ma going to file charges against them. Be aware, Ntelos is a nightmare.
