When buying two 20" HD ready LCD TV's, I was asked if I wanted to "buy" two HD ready DirecTV receivers that were $99 a piece with a $100 rebate for each. I told them I had two receivers already, although they were not HD, but they worked fine. I also told them I noticed that you only got the rebate if you weren't already a DirecTV customer, which I was. They told me this was not the case and the promotion was good for anyone. I asked if they were sure and they (two sales people and the manager in the electronics section) told me "YES!"

I then went to redeem my rebates with Best Buy and was told I was not eligible AND that it was a DirecTV rebate. I then went to DirecTV and was told it was a Best Buy rebate. I was told that the manager I needed to talk to, the one in electronics was at lunch (it's 6:30 PM) and I should come back in an hour or two.

A week later I went back to the same Best Buy (Store #404 in Southfield, Michigan... It's the worst) and told them my story. After an hour of waiting I saw the manager of the electronics section (the same one who had assured me I would get the rebate before) and he took a copy of my receipt, my telephone #, told me that he remembered that the rebate deal was for new AND OLD customers, and promised he would get back to me as he said that he "couldn't get ahold of anyone" at the corporate place or the place that did rebates (whatever).

It's two weeks later, I haven't heard anything, so I go back into the store. I am made to wait another half-hour this time, met with some random guy from electronics, who I had never seen before, he tells me there is nothing he can do. I ask to see the manager in electronics (Bill) the one I had seen before. He wasn't there so I was demanded that I meet the store manager (who the random guy from electronics guaranteed me would say the same thing and there was nothing they could do). The store manager said that rebate 1) only for new customers and 2) too much time had passed and that the rebate was not good anymore.

Once again, terrible customer service, deceitfulness, and all in the name of $200.00. I will never buy anything from there again and advise all of you to stay away from Best Buy as they are a company of liars who give honest people the runaround.
