On March 28th I went to the local Best Buy at a store that is less than 1.5 miles from my home to purchase a computer package that included a printer and a monitor. The box was a return but I was told that I would get the same warrantees as if it was a brand new purchase. Before I finished loading it into my car I noticed that there was no mouse in the box. I waloked back into the store and that was resolved immediately.
The problem started when I got the computer home and found out the previous owner's information was still on the hard drive. Due to my work schedule I was not able to get back to Best Buy until April 26th when I called them and explained the problem. I was told to bring the computer back and that they (Best Buy) would have the hard drive purged and the pre-loaded software would be re-installed. When I got the computer back I found that none of the pre-loaded software had been re-installed.
This time I went back to the store and explained the problem. I was told that I could exchange it for another of the same model. The store was out of that model. I asked if they could contact any other stores in the area to see if they had any in stock.
They checked and I was told that there were 6 in one store in Pinole (59 miles from my home) and there were 2 at another store in Emeryville (48 miles from my home). I then asked if they could be shiped to the local store and was told that it was against company policy. I then asked if they could hold the computer and was told again that it was against company policy.
I would like to get the computer that I paid fr with all of the pre-loaded software. This software included, Microsoft Windows XP Home edition, Microsoft Money 90 day of complimentary Norton anti virus, 30 days of complimentary McAfee Antispyware and 3 months of AOL 9.0.
