I am very disappointed with the service I received at Geek Squad, not only dissatisfied but I feel betrayed.
I brought my computer to Geek Squad to retrieve data from my hard drive which was apparently not working anymore and for them to reinstall my operating system and 11 software CDS. I gave the Geek Squad representative my information and she said they would install everything.

I received a phone call that Geek Squad could not retrieve my data, the representative said I could purchase a new hard drive with the refund that was due to me because they could not retrieve the data. I asked him how much and he said it would be $70. I asked him if the prices range like if I purchased a faster one could it be more. He told me, No it would cost $70 plus installation... Your unit was 4200 and I will install a 5400 speed. There are no higher ones than that.

The next day I was called that my computer was ready. I picked it up and the hard drive that I was told was originally $70, was charged to me for $90 plus installation. I then went home and found just the operating system was installed for $129. I could have none this myself but I was under the impression by 2 Geek Squad representatives that they would and did put the 11 software CDs on my computer. When I called and asked why they didn't put them on my computer and had an additional question they referred me to the tech number at Geek Squad.

After calling and explaining the whole situation for the SECOND time he said I was routed to the wrong number and rerouted me... No one ever picked up and I had to call back and repeat my situation for the THIRD time... He said I would have to call the store (the same store that told me to call the tech number). I called the store and explained myself for the FORTH time and they answered my question and told me the reason that they did not put the additional software was because it would have cost more money. I am not retarded I could have installed the operating system but because I had additional software thought the $129 was a little high but would save me time.

I would like a partial refund on this $129 because no one ever explained to me that they could not put it on or that it would be an additional fee or that they did NOT put it on my computer.

I regret that I do not have the names of the individuals at Geek Squad and I regret taking my computer there. Next time I have a problem I would sooner buy a new computer than take it to Geek Squad for repairs.
