This company is either going bankrupt or is just plain greedy. Three times I purchased items with wonderful rebates and three times they never got what I mailed or said it was not timely. I PAINSTAKINGLY followed all of the instructions for the rebate. Since I am a detail-oriented college graduate, I'd have to say I'm pretty sure everything was done correctly. However, if you do a search within consumer complaints for Best Buy, you will get a list of many, many complaints. Of course they had no record of my sending in any rebate for the most recent time I sent one. My only mistake was that I did not send it with a return receipt confirmation from the Post Office.
The Post Office should be just as pissed as I am, because every time Best Buy does not "get your rebate", this reflects directly on them. I mail an average of 25-40 pieces of mail every week and the Post Office loses exactly NONE of them. Funny how they just can't seem to do their job when they deliver rebates to Best Buy, no?
Just do yourselves a favor and do not buy from Best Buy or only buy from them if the price is low enough for your taste without a rebate.
Incidentally, I purchased a laptop from Circuit City and got my 250.00 in rebates right away!!! (I did send it certified though).
Is it just me or is just about every major company always trying to steal a few dollars from you nowadays?
