Like many of you, I too was charged with the monthly amount of 12.95 from CIC Triple Advantage. Their name is masked behind the FreeCreditReport.com site saying that you get a free credit report but instead includes a free credit monitoring system service that most people do not ask for. This is definitely a fraudulant service and while they do not get your permission and authorization for this service, it makes it illegal and unethical. I was looking for answers and for those of you who are as well, I came upon a site.
This page gives you step by step instructions on how to take care of these issues by cancelling the service and getting the bank or credit card company to take off the charges as well as blocking this company from your account. It also explains how credit monitoring services are frauds and how you can do it yourself. For reporting more on this issue, don't forget to report them to the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) complaint form.
