Capital One
Harasses innocent consumers who have been victims of identity theft-they expect the victim to pay!

I had my identity stolen in '03. Capital One called ME to tell me someone had used my card to buy a hundred dollars worth of stuff at a gas station. They even gave me the name of the person they thought was responsible. THEN THEY INSISTED THAT I PAY THE DEBT!

I signed their fraud affidavit, dutifully reported the ID theft to ALL the appropriate agencies, and guess what?
They decided that since the information used to open the account was correct (ie, the thief had my SSN, etc) that I should pay the debt!

To steal a lousy hundred bucks from me Capital One has harassed me and ruined my credit for FOUR YEARS!!!

WHAT'S IN YOUR WALLET? If it's Capital One, GET RID OF IT! They are nothing but thieves themselves! Totally unscrupulous and predatory!
