In October of last year I purchased a new 300 GB
MAXTOR SATA HD for my computer from TigerDirect.
There was a $45 manufacturer's rebate offered.
I submitted the rebate info via email to Onrebate.com, got a confirming e-mail then
mailed in the required submission documentation.
On february 17 I received my $45 rebate check from Onrebate.com.
I subsequently cashed the check at my bank
and everything was fine until Friday (03/01/06).
I received a letter from the bank stating that the
rebate check had bounced and the bank had debited my account for the $45 and added a $25 charge for a returned check.
Now instead of a $45 rebate I now have a $70 loss!
I telephoned TigerDirect concerning this and was given the 1-888-222-9300 number for Onrebate.com.
I placed a call to Onrebate.com and finally gave up
after being 'on hold' for over 30 minutes.
I then sent an e-mail to [email protected]
detailing what had occurred concerning the bounced rebate check and received no reply.
I see the TigerDirect logo at the Onrebate.com website. I believe these two are one in the same!
I won't be doing business with TigerDirect again and before I purchase any product w / a rebate I'll make sure Onrebate.com isn't involved!
