Held deposit for false damages, impossible key turn in date, public health hazard, ordered me not to speak to them, let residents run wild

Apartment Management Scamers. Do not do business with these guys.

I lived here from Feb until august. During this time the complex became more louder with more rude young adults who stood outside your door drank, partied, smoked, Loitered, played loud TV's, stereos, slammed doors! At all times between 10:00 on through 4:00 am in the morning. I called the police several times even (2x in one night). I prevailed on management to do their job and stop the problem. Finally, after sleepless nights a letter was finally generated.

It worked for a short time, but soon it started all over again. Soon, as I explained to management that if they didn't do their job, I would become the problem and the residents would retaliate against me. (which did happen) The next event was a health problem where "brown recluse spiders" broke out all over the apt. Other residents came knocking at my door, because management refused to take action on their calls of possible risk of bites. I finally called management up and demanded that action be taken that I didn't want to end up in the ER.

When I forced the issue by telling them we would have to take steps by calling the health dept, or the news people or something? The manager lost his temper! And yelled at me and said, "don't every speak to this office or any of us ever again! Or ever contact us ever again" I was like?"How am I suppose to excercise my lease if I don't have to right to communicate with management?" (I would interpet that as a constructed eviction personally)... So, then it occurred to me that, because I was asking them to live up to their responsibilities, I was suddenly a trouble maker in more regard, than all of the "brats" causing me all of the grief in the complex!

At this time I consulted a lawyer about all the problems, and the history of what had occured. To make a long story short, the decision was made to move out. I was advised to turn in my notice to vacat etc 30-day notice etc. (which I did according to the terms of the lease as the lawyer read it). After I moved out, they turned around and withheld the deposit claiming that I didn't turn in the keys on time? I cannot turn in the keys on the 1st of the month, because that month is the last 30-days for movng out. How is it possible to turn in the keys during the month your are moving out? (and you have paid for that month?), Then they claimed that the stove eyes needed replacing? Guess what? I never cooked on the stove while I was living there! (scam!)...

Want to know something else? During the 4 years I was there, I asked on 4 occassions to move into one of the larger apts across the parking lots. Each time I was told I could not move into one, because I would have finish paying the lease on the other apt, and pay the lease on the new apt as well until the old one expired!!! Guess what? I watched 3 college girls move into those units when they became available who had only lived there barely 10 months and me living there 2-3 years! (being told no!). Gender discrimination? You go figure...

The lawyer told me this was a form of "contructed eviction" is what it was. He said to move and get away from these people as fast as you can!

Its tough to get justice in the county here, becaue the property owners generate revenue for the court system on a monthy basis, so you will have to have a good case to get a favorable ruling against them. The courtroom here will look at you, and then look at them, and see only who brings and pays their court room fees on a steady basis, and thats NOT YOU! Nobody ever said justice was for everybody. It should be, but thats not the world we live in when you get right down to it.in 7 of 10 cases now days the big guy is going to win. It don't mean its right, but until enough people stand together only then can we do something about it.

Don't do business with mmc properties... Murfreesboro tn
