I ordered Carpet for three bedrooms, lamintate wood flooring throughout the livingroom, diningroom and kitchen and baseboards throughout the house, except the bathroom on 15 February. On, 22 February the sales rep measured my home and provided a sales price.
The install dates were scheduled for 15 March for the carpet and baseboards and 22-23 March for the laminate wood flooring and baseboards. Carpeteria would paint baseboards and bullnose ends which I provided on 12 March.
On Monday morning, 15 March the carpet installers arrived one hour late. The baseboards to be installed in the carpet area were not in the warehouse, much less painted.
The Carpet installers were unprofessional. They did not have a broom, dustpan, vacuum or bags to clean and clear out the debri in the bedrooms. After 45 minutes of work, the carpet installers took a 45-minute break with a friend who met them on my street.
Furthermore, they were instructed to rip out and install carpet only in the bedrooms. One of his coworkers, who could not speak english, started ripping out the carpet in the hallway while the lead Carpet installer and his other coworker were still on break.
They completed the carpet installation in a rush when the baseboard moulding installers arrived. I had to work with the Carpet installers to put the furniture back into the bedrooms. When they were done, my walls, closet and bedroom doors had dirty handprints. One bedroom closet door track was not reinstalled. And, the carpet still needed to be stretched in all the bedrooms.
The laminate wood flooring was scheduled for Monday to Tuesday (22-23 March) install. There is a 48-hour acclimation period for the laminate wood floor with the new floor.
No one delivered the flooring on Friday or Saturday (19 or 20 March) as scheduled. The flooring installer called and said that the flooring was not at the warehouse. He also claimed that it would not be a problem to install the new flooring on the day they were delivered. He stated "50% of my flooring jobs are installed on the same day the laminate wood is delivered".
Through my insistence that Carpeteria put in writing that they would be responsible for any defects with the flooring which may be caused by insufficient acclimation of the laminate wood flooring, Carpeteria's sales rep delivered the laminate wood flooring on Sunday, 21 March, morning. The laminate wood flooring was in the warehouse!
On Monday, 22 March, the Flooring installers prepared the floor for next day installation.
On Tuesday, 23 March, the laminate wood floor was installed. BUT, missing the quarter-rounds! What was supposed to be completed this day was pushed out to Saturday, 27 March.
In the meantime, the Carpet installer who was supposed to return Wednesday to stretch the carpet and carpet the hallway closet showed up on Thursday. Both the Carpet and Laminate wood installers discussed (on the phone) the spacing required between the the laminate wood floor and carpet in the doorway of each bedroom.
On Saturday, 27 March, prior to installing the baseboards, quarter rounds, etc. The laminate wood installer notices that there is no 3/4" space between the bedroom carpet and flooring. That means cutting the carpet and getting the carpet installer out again to finish the job the next week!
Buyer beware. I was referred to Carpeteria by a co-worker who had a good experience with her carpet purchase and installation. I like the product BUT the service, scheduling and installation is POOR.
