On August 16 I purchased Bamboo Flooring, Carpet and Tile for my entire house. It was purchased from Coast to Coast Carpet in Charlotte the owner is Steve Cape. His installers installed the Wood Flooring, Tile and Carpet.
When the job was completed, The Bamboo flooring was covered in glue due to a sloppy installation and now permanently stained and damaged.in addition to the staining, the floor was installed so tightly that the boards in the middle of the floor have now warped (cupped) due to natural expansion and contraction of the wood.
The shoe molding joints were not cut properly, molding ends didn't meet or fit properly and half of the shoe molding was glued to the wall with blobs of glue showing at the seams and the other half was nailed down. The beautiful wood banister including all the door frames were cut almost inch too short leaving a large gap between the floor and the banister.
The grout in all three bathrooms are different colors due to improper mixing of the grout, tiles were chipped prior to installation and installed with chips showing. The carpet at the seams are two different colors and most of the seams show.
Finally, after going to the BBB (who didn't help at all) then going to the States District Attorney (who also didn't help at all) I took Mr. Steve Cape to Small Claims Court and won my case.
It has been over a year since that Judgment was placed on Steve Cape and I have not been able to collected one Dime from from Coast to Coast Carpet or Steve Cape. He has Incorproated his business to protect his assets, there are no assets in "Coast to Coast Carpet Inc." for me to collect my $5000.00 judgment.
