Sears unable to install their own new appliance in 8 days! - washer/drye

I purchased a stackable washer/dryer combo for a condo in St Augustine from Sears in Merritt Island, FL on 10/09/10 costing $1279.36 delivered/installed. My condo is in a rental program managed by onsite personnel only available 9 AM to 5 PM. Rental company were primary on notification phone list; I was secondary. On scheduled delivery date 10/13/10, Hispanic delivery person calls me 11:30 AM. From what I could decipher due to language issues, he delivered my appliance, but did not install because 1) he did not have a connector to vent dryer outside and because 2) I had a small laundry rack in way that they would not remove from wall due to liability issues. (Four screws hold it in.) Salesman had not mentioned removal issues when I purchased. We rescheduled installation for Monday 10/18/10. After I hung up, I contacted Sears installation line printed on receipt. I now talked to an Oriental person to complain. Again I could barely understand her. That was fruitless. I paid condo rental company to have someone remove all obstacles prior to installation on Monday. On Monday 10/18/10 at 8 AM, I get phone call from Hispanic delivery person that no one is in the office to let them into my unit for installation. I told him they were not scheduled to arrive until 9 AM. I read info from Sears sales receipt to him stating only available 9 AM to 5 PM. He asked to delay installation until next day 10/19/10. I reluctantly agreed, but reminded him that I had condo rented starting 10/21/10 and that appliance had to be installed before then. I emailed condo on Wednesday 10/20/10 to see how install went. Sears never showed. I again called Sears installation phone number. I was told that there was no new work order for my installation at all. I told them to please pick up their new non-installed washer/dryer and refund all my money. I contacted salesman that sold me the appliance that I was having it picked up. He was not even concerned nor did he apologize for all the hassles. I now felt that I had wasted enough time and frustration on Sears.

Meanwhile, I had to cancel my rental starting 10/21/10 because I have no washer/dryer available. This cost me hundreds of dollars! Thanks Sears.

Sears reminds me of the old signs in 60‘s restaurants: No shirt, no shoes, NO SERVICE!
