Complaint / Review
Duramade Windows
Fafco, sun solar, Tropical Roofing DECEPTIVE, QUESTIONABLE, UNORTHODOX, Possibly Fraudulent and RUDE

What the supposedly "disgruntled" employee seems to be accurate in the other post about Duramade. It is a step by step sales process that they pitch, our salesman was pleasant I have no qualms with him. The salesman was doing his job and honestly, I don't even think he knows for a "shady" company. What I have qualms with is the actual company which is sketchy at best. They are under several business names as well as have several complaints with them with county complaints, BBB, and several online consumer reviews.

Last Friday we did not know that about this company.in fact, we did not know that until today (Wednesday). We were interested in windows so we signed a contract, pending another financier through a credit union. There was no financial transaction. There was not a authorization for parts, windows, etc to be ordered. It states clearly on the contract, "John Doe will seek other financing for a better rate". The down payment was never given. The contract was signed and the cancellation was stated that it was 3 business days and "he" stated plain as day, "Wednesday". After getting laid off, financially getting new window is not a priority so we are canceling within the 3 day mark. This was sent certified mail etc.

The sales manager, Bob Gracely, who was contacted this morning by both my husband and myself was incredibly rude. Before knowing our names or date of sale, he stated that we could not cancel. We stated that we could. So this went back and forth for awhile. He claimed I was inaccurate about the 3 days. I asked him if he was saying a customer was lying. This kind of conversation continued. Another conversation with my husband and Bob Gracely ended up the same way. Later in the day, Bob Gracely calls my husband offering another sales pitch. My husband refuses and states that we just want to cancel. This ends in another rude phone call with Bob Gracely threatening to put a lien on our home.

A builder's lien would be valid if there were parts ordered, authorized, or a financial transaction was made.
- there were no parts ordered
-nothing was authorized via a date, to place an order, or to commence the next step of the sale
-there was no down payment given, cc or financial information

The only thing Duramade has is a contract for an agreement for my husband to seek financing for the future transaction of windows with no date set and cancellation available within the three days.

Well its day 3.

Certified mail sent, complaint with BBB, Pinellas county have been sent. If any future threats or harassment are made, this complaint will be more public via news stations who protect consumers and to local newspapers in Orlando, Miami and the Tampa area.

I suggest you review your company ethical standards and not harass or threaten your customers.

Thank you for reading.
