Value Floors & Cabinets
Poor quality, poor customer service avoid at all costs

I can't tell you how disappointed we are with the decision we made to order hardwood floors with Value Floors. We ordered Casabella Asian walnut floors and Jay was our sales person. The wood was delivered at the approximate date but they just dropped shipped it to the garage. We were under the assumption that it would be brought into the house which was an honest mistake. When I contacted Jay to ask why the wood wasn't brought inside he said that they would only drop it in the garage and would have to charge me an additional fee to bring it inside. When I asked why, he became very defensive to the point of being rude. We ended up bringing in ourselves. We had another company install the floor after the wood had acclimated for about 3 weeks. The floor boards are such a poor quality that you can hardly find a board that is cut straight. The majority of the boards (90%) have tapered ends or the widths vary by as much as 1/16 of an inch. My biggest concern when I had purchased a wood floor was the appearance of any gaps. This floor has nothing but gaps. I contacted Value Floors about 3 weeks after it was installed to have them come over to inspect the floors. When I called, Rick, another one of their employees answered the phone and I stated that I have a problem with the floor. Now, I have never met Rick but he says " what, you got a problem with your F'kn floors?" And he continued to drop additional F bombs. I'm not in customer service but I would think that you shouldn't be speaking like that to anyone. So Jay comes over to look at the floor and he can see that there is a problem with them. He states that he wants to have his Dad come over and look at it-that didn't happen. Jay does come back with a rep from AllTile (the distributor). As soon as they came in the decision was already made by them that they were going to nothing to address the problem-no negotiating, no discussion, no resolution. They blamed the installer but that doesn't address why the majority of the boards are not square. I had my installer come over today to look at the continued gaping of the floor and he wanted to ask the AllTile rep some questions regarding the potential cause of the gaping. I didn't remember his name so I had to contact Jay once more to get it. First Jay states that he doesn't know who it was that came with him from AllTile-I found that hard to believe-and he would have to call me back. He does a few minutes later and says that the AllTile rep declined to give his name. When I ask him why and that my installer wants to discuss the floor issue with him. I also said that I'm not happy and I'm stuck with bad floor, he becomes defensive again and then accuses me that I'm coming after him now. I don't know where these people get their business acumen but this is not the way to deal with a customer. Value floors can dispute this and spin this how they want but the fact of the matter is just look at the other reports on this site and others regarding this company. Avoid Value Floors-Don't get ripped off like we did.
