A sales person in a GE shirt with an ID badge knocked on our door as we were leaving one evening. Gave us a speech about the system and how he only had 2 slots left for the free equipment (didn't tell us until later that we'd have to pay more for the monitoring than we were currently paying). The system had a lot of great extras like the medical panic buttons, keyfobs, etc. He also said that we had a week (turned out to be 3 days) to try the system and cancel. The rep also stated that they would but my old system back in working order (THIS WAS A LIE.). He forgot to tell us that the monitoring wouldn't be done through our current company but through a company we'd never heard of, Monitortronics.
After looking at several consumer websites, we decided to have the system removed. It took several attempts to fax the required paperwork to cancel the contract. A person finally contacted me to set up the appointment to remove the system. She said that "by law we can't re-install another company's equipment". So on Friday morning we have an appointment to this system removed.in addition, we're going to have to pay extra (to the tune of $45/hour) to my previous alarm company to have the system re-installed instead of just having them re-attach the contacts. Like we have that kind of money to spend!
Don't go with this company!!
